LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS | 2024
We Are Workspace
We Are Workspace | Workspace is composed of 110+ hardworking individuals throughout the country, each helping bring industry-leading customer service and premier properties to our tenants. Stay tuned as we highlight a few of our team members that help make us the preeminent suburban office landlord in the country.
Today, we spotlight a team member who has been an integral part of Workspace since our inception in 2015 - Joe Butler, Senior Project Manager for our Construction and Development department. With roots in Pennsylvania, Joe has worked within our Horsham portfolio for 20 years with active roles in tenant services. Over the past decade, he has grown with the company and now oversees C&D projects for our Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas markets.
Before his career in commercial real estate, Joe worked in healthcare emergency management, equipping him with a sense of urgency and the ability to solve issues quickly and with a high level of care. These skills have laid the foundation necessary to succeed in all aspects of project management, from contributing to early design sessions, establishing timelines, working closely with contractors, and providing custom solutions to meet each tenant's unique needs.
Reflecting on our hands-on approach, Joe shares:
"Meeting people face to face helps build trust and demonstrates that we're more than just landlords—we're real people who genuinely care about doing right by our tenants. From early brainstorming sessions to handing over the keys, we manage every step of the project with utmost care and dedication. As one of the few full-service owners and operators in office space, we're able to wrap our arms around every aspect and stand out from the crowd, consistently showing—and delivering—our value."
With a rich portfolio of diverse projects of all sizes and budgets, Joe shared that every project stands out in its own way. However, the construction of a 40,000-square-foot nursing school for Thomas Jefferson University, complete with a mock emergency room and a 200-seat auditorium, has been his favorite.
"This project was particularly inspiring because we were creating spaces where future healthcare professionals would come to learn life-saving skills. It's rewarding to contribute to something that has such a positive impact on society."
When Joe is not in the office...
Joe takes his project management skills beyond the office, planning vacations and get-togethers for his large extended family. He enjoys organizing camping and fishing trips with his wife and two sons—a college baseball player and fishing trips with his wife and two sons. Joe is eagerly anticipating his next big project: becoming a grandfather.
