How did you get started?
Higginbotham began in 1948 as a small, “mom and pop” insurance agency founded by Paul C. Higginbotham to serve his local neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas. Since then, we’ve grown to become the 20th largest independent insurance brokerage in the country. Our transformation began in 1989 when CEO Rusty Reid took the reins, bringing a vision to expand beyond our roots while preserving the personalized service that defines us. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Higginbotham serves businesses and individuals through locations across the nation. The firm specializes in tailoring programs to meet each client’s unique needs, and in standing by those programs with their Day Two Services®, which provide proactive customer support through the life of each policy.
What is the company's mission or purpose?
At Higginbotham, our mission is to exceed the expectations of our employees, clients, carriers and communities in a partnership to deliver a Single Source for insurance and financial services. What this means in practice is we serve as an extension of our clients' teams, acting as their dedicated risk management specialists. We provide comprehensive coverage solutions, from writing policies to offering loss control services, OSHA training, and access to legal resources. By bridging the gap between clients and complex processes, we work tirelessly to simplify risk management and deliver tailored support to help them navigate challenges with confidence. Our goal is to be a trusted partner, ensuring their success and peace of mind every step of the way.

We’ve achieved an impressive track record of milestones and accomplishments over the years, driven by our commitment to growth and service. We’re proud to be working with Workspace Property Trust to design a space that will foster connection among three currently independent partner offices (Higginbotham, BenefitU and Iscential) and fully immerse our employees in the Higginbotham culture. Powered by some of the most talented individuals in the industry, we’re excited to continue building our success in our new space.
